Just a quick update. I had another ultrasound this week. All was well. The baby is about 2 lbs, 4 oz already and growing well. No issues with my blood pressure, which is great. I go back for another ultrasound the same day I go for the fetal echo – June 16.

The only craziness was the new system they put in. The perinatal clinic moved to a new building (next door) and put in this system like a restaurant where you give your name and they give you a coaster that will beep when it’s your turn. Too bad the crazy lady at the front doesn’t know how to use them. She gave me a coaster, but didn’t check me in! It took an hour before I clued in that something was horribly wrong and that when I asked the crazy lady about it, she just kept telling me there was a long wait. She never even checked! How do people like that keep their jobs?

Anyway, the appointment itself went well. Next week is my gestational diabetes screen and my appointment with my OB. Then a wonderful weekend off in Canmore!

Awwww…. my boys play so well together… at least for now. The other night, Ben and I were laying on the bed watching a DVD and baby Guido was kicking up a storm. I was intently watching my belly wiggle around like there was an alien in there. Ben obviously thought it was neat too, because the next thing I know, Ben was strategically placing toy cars on my belly just to see what happened when Guido kicked them. He pretty much had a giggle fit every time Guido kicked a car and it went rolling off my belly. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Gotta love those little moments…

Unfortunately, since then, Ben got heat stroke on a field trip with school. The combination of +31 degrees, very little water, and riding around on quads with a helmet on was just too much. By the time I got him home his temp was 103. Poor kid. But he’s totally recovered now and back to his usual self. He’s definitely learned how important it is to drink lots of water on hot days though!

As for me, I’ll be 27 weeks this weekend. Woohoo! Definitely 3rd trimester. Next Wednesday is my next ultrasound at the hospital. Just to check on baby’s growth and my blood pressure. Should be just fine. In the meantime – yay for long weekend!

Another good week. I’m exhausted – work was very busy, but all in all, it went well.

I had my ultrasound at the perinatal clinic on Monday. That went well – nothing exciting. Baby is growing well and everything looked good to them. I also had my regular OB appointment today, although it ended up being with one of the other doctors in the practice. I actually saw the doctor that delivered Ben, so that was kind of cool. Again, everything went well. My weight is up more than I’d like, but I’ve been eating terribly this week (lots of catered lunches). Hopefully I can get back on track now. My blood pressure was good, if on the low side a bit. But I’ve eaten since then, so it should be back to normal now. I’m measuring slightly big (I’m measuring 25 weeks and I’m just shy), but well within range. Baby’s heartbeat was 149 beats per minute – just perfect. Next appointment is another perinatal ultrasound at the end of May, then I go back to the OB on June 4.

Ben had another soccer game this week. He’s supposed to go twice a week, but that crazy snow storm meant that the game was cancelled again. His game on Monday was good though. Ben played goal – and was awesome! He stopped a ton of shots, just like a pro. It’s still the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Hopefully we get to play both games next week.

I think that’s about it for news… To all the family members heading of to Vegas, have an awesome time!
